Cygnum Are Ready to Tackle the Housing Crisis

A growing skills shortage in the construction sector is reinforcing the need to adopt offsite construction and manufacturing to deliver speed, scale, and quality housing.

At Cygnum we are ready to tackle the housing crises with increased efficiency, reliability, all the while minimising the waste of materials on site.

Great to be Back on Site!

Our second week back on-site and it’s full speed ahead on one of our large developments here in Cork!

Incredible progress made this morning by the site team bringing it up to wall plate level by 2.30. Time to start roofing!

Cygnum Building Offsite are delighted to announce that the multi award winning Gold Smith Street, Norwich has won the 2019 RIBA Stirling Prize.

The social housing development of 105 ultra-low-energy homes for Norwich City Council, is the first social housing scheme to be shortlisted and win the coveted Stirling Prize. It is high-quality architecture in its purest most environmentally and socially-conscious form.”

Cygnum Managing Director John Desmond stated…. “We are immensely proud of the major role Cygnum Building Offsite played in this project. We designed, manufactured and installed the highly insulated timber frame structures to a tight program and exceptionally high-performance standards. Our team were outstanding! Well done to Mikhail Riches and all involved”

RIBA President Alan Jones added: “Faced with a global climate emergency, the worst housing crisis for generations and crippling local authority cuts, Goldsmith Street is a beacon of hope.
