TG4 Filming at Cygnum

It was a pleasure to welcome the crew from New Departures Media to Cygnum recently. They are in the process of filming a series for TG4 that will be aired next year.

It was great to talk about all things timber frame and the importance of delivering sustainable homes at speed and scale for a sustainable future.

Breakfast Information Morning with Homebond

It was fantastic to welcome such a large number of developers, builders, and engineers to our breakfast information morning with HomeBond.

Thanks to John Lehane, HomeBond who delivered an excellent presentation alongside Heber Mc Mahon from Cygnum Building Offsite.

A guided manufacturing tour by our Production Manager Piotr Raczka followed the presentations. It was a great catch-up with faces old and new and we would like to thank everyone who attended.

Bealick Mill – A historical sustainable Gem!

We were delighted to answer a recent request from our Macroom Tidy Town committee to install a bridge at one of the town’s National Heritage sites ‘Bealick Mill’

Steeped in rich history, the mill dates back to the eighteenth century. Corn and milling created prosperity in the area at the time as farmers had a ready market for their crops, while the mills provided employment. In 1899 the power of the mill wheel was harnessed to provide electricity to the town, and it is thought that Macroom was one of the first towns in the country with electric street lighting.

A true testament to the innovators of their time, the mill is a remarkable achievement that provided a renewable, sustainable, clean source of power.
