Cygnum Awarded 5 Awards in One Week!

After picking up the ‘Best Use of Timber’ award for the Enterprise Centre at the Offsite Awards, we are over the moon to announce we were awarded 4 more at last night’s Structural Timber Awards!

‘Best Low Energy Project’ – The Enterprise Centre – The University of East Anglia

Presenter on the night ‘Mark Durden Smith’ commented this was one of the toughest categories with no less than 10 stand out Low Energy Projects contending for the top prize. However the Judges singled out the Enterprise Centre in particular for the innovative use of local Corsican pine that grew just 30 miles away from site, exploding the myth that British timber sources aren’t suited to structural uses in buildings.

‘Best Use of Timber Frame’ -The Enterprise Centre – The University of East Anglia

The Enterprise Centre was selected for this very prestigious award as it was highest scoring of all timber frame projects entered!

Highly Commended – Best Education – Burry Port Community School – Joint Entry with Architype

We were thrilled that our Brettstapel beauty Burry Port Community School was recognised in what was another hotly contested category – with 12 outstanding Education projects it was great to be Highly Commended along with our friends at Architype.

Highly Commended – Client of the Year – The Enterprise Centre-The University of East Anglia

Delighted that the University of East Anglia was rightly highly commended as Client of The Year. This category requires contestants to show exceptional ways of integration and collaborative working, excellent health and safety, fair terms and forms of contract and a desire to involve all stakeholders, local community and supply chain partners in any decisions throughout the project.
